Be there or be SQUARE...

Forgive the pun... but check out these crazy fun carpet squares we installed last week:

These are square carpet 'tiles' with soft, varied textural bands of colorful stripes that literally span the rainbow. The random stripes make for entirely unique flooring. Unique flooring was absolutely necessary in this super fun and lively bedroom loft area.

I know, now you're trying to figure out what part of your home needs some really awesome carpet squares. Give us a call. we'll help you figure it out!

Not Your Mother's Cow Hide Rug

Have you heard of Kyle Bunting? Okay, me either. He is an artist who is just up the road in Austin (Hooray for Texas!) and you are going to LOVE the medium he has chosen for his stunning artwork. He uses hides, as in cow hides, to make some of the most amazing and functional pieces of art. Don't believe me, check this stuff out:
Yes, the art on the wall is hide:

Also hide:

Amazing right?! So, why hide? Taken from the company website, "Luxurious to the touch, hide is a material of incredible depth and dimension that brings unlimited design potential to rugs, walls, objects and upholstery. Kyle Bunting, widely recognized as creator of the decorative hide rug, is an innovator whose work over the past decade has redefined how hide is used in interior applications. Kyle Bunting believes that designing without limitation is the ultimate expression of luxury. Since the beginning Kyle Bunting's specification mantra - 'any size, any shape, any color' - has enabled designers and clients to freely express and indulge their utmost design potential, allowing each piece to become a work of art that personifies the space for which it was designed."

So just in case you aren't looking to add some hide art to your wall here are a few of (my favorite) rug designs:

Seriously, you could spend hours looking at all the amazing things that can be made from hide. I know I just did. Here's the website if you feel inclined to do so: KyleBunting.com . Happy Friday ya'll!

Enchanted Forest

Yadi recently had the opportunity to visit the Merchandise Mart in Chicago and came across this beautiful line of products in the Donghia Showroom. This New Collection from Porta Romana is called Enchanted Forest. Like its name suggests the inspiration of Designer Tord Boonjte comes from natural Motifs such as creeping ivy, fluid  branches, and textured bark with the intention of letting your imagination run wild and transforming features of the forest into whimsical magical pieces for your home. Here are a few of the stunning products:

This Shadow Chandelier, is a main centerpiece of this line of products and features fluid branches and delicate creeping ivy which results in enchanting projected shadows.

This Ivy Shadow Wall Light  plays off of the concept of a sprawling ivy motif as the foliage delicately grows down the wall.

These side tables are inspired by logs with recreated textures of bark for the legs and bases and chamfered edged poured bronze tops.

Such a fascinating and whimsical concept sure to add romance and beauty to any space!

Gorgeous Guest Bedrooms

Remember the before and after pictures we posted of the lake home we are working to remodel? Here are some updated pictures Yadi took for us!

I'm already jealous of the guests who will be staying in these adorable guest bedrooms.

LOVE the nautical theme

These built in lockers and loft are so fun and will be so functional for guests to stash their belongings before heading out to the pool!

This room is the best executed homage to our country I have ever seen! Please look closely at the details of the metal saddle style bed. So amazing!

Stunning Navy and check out that amazing night stand.

...and just for fun, here are some pictures of two separate dining areas for your viewing pleasure.

We are having so much fun with this remodel. Make sure to check back for more pictures as we finish more of the home!

Flashback Friday

Everyone loves a good make-over story! Well, we are in the middle of renovating this fantastic home that was built and designed in 1998. I don't know about you, but I was sure that 1998 wasn't that long ago, however, after seeing pictures of this home (and then looking up a picture of myself from 1998) I am so grateful for the great strides that have been made in home (and fashion) design. Now feast your eyes on the amazing transformation that is still just beginning for this amazing home and join with us in saying goodbye to all the dated designs and fixtures of yesteryear and hello to all the amazing new features and furnishings of this home.:

Are you seeing those crazy end tables that were there before?! Love the new flooring... and rug... and everything.

 Goodbye pink walls.

Goodbye robin egg blue walls... and carpet. Hello amazing new wall color and gorgeous striped rug.

Goodbye matchy matchy everything. Hello fun lockers and loft bed!

I have no words for this one... just glad it's gone. Love the perfectly executed 'Americana' design in the new room.

 Repeat. Goodbye pink walls.

You can just drink in what an amazing transformation has taken place here... but wait, it gets better...

There we go... how amazing is this! I know it's hard to notice anything besides the green walls and carpet but do you see that mirror wall. So glad that's gone. Loving the subdued elegance and relaxing atmosphere that has taken the place of that VERY green room.

Thanks to all those who have worked and are currently working with us on this home and a special shout out to our very own Yadi for all her hard work!:

Which room's transformation was your favorite? Comment below and let us know!
